The paper I used for the covers and end pages is made by hand at Auroville Papers in southern India. Leaves from the Bauhinia (orchid tree) are soaked in different dyes and then pressed on the handmade paper, leaving behind color and texture. Auroville Papers uses 100 percent vegetal fibres for its papermaking and promotes the economic and social progress of its employees, of whom more than 70 percent are women.
