Handmade Ivory, Turquoise and Silver Glass Earrings

These handmade glass earrings are one of a kind. I made the beads at the torch in my studio. I started with a base of Ivory glass melted into a round shape. I added swirls of Turquoise glass around the centre of the bead, and melted them in. Over the Turquoise I melted in pure silver, in swirls and dots. The silver is echoed by the sterling silver embellishments and ear wires. If you look closely, you can see that there are fine black lines at the edges of the Turquoise glass – these come out of the chemical interaction between the Turquoise and Ivory glass as they melt together!

I kiln anneal the beads for strength and durability, and then carefully clean them.

These earrings are 1.5 inches long, with a drop of 1 inch. The Ivory, Turquoise and silver gives them an ‘Arizona” feel.
