Ottawa Winterlude Rideau Canal Skateway

Here’s a painting that I had so much fun doing adding my little characters and lots of bright colours.In 2005, the Rideau Canal Skateway was added to the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest, naturally frozen Skateway Rink in the world. Open 24 hrs a day, it’s an amazing place to spend a day or evening skating or simply walking.Using pencil, ink and watercolour, my style is impressionist, I paint a variety of subjects and then often add little characters that puts a smile on my face 🙂 I have so much fun adding these little characters that I’m sure when someone is watching me paint they must wonder what I’m laughing about. When someone views my art I hope it puts a smile on their face and brings them a sense of peace.
