This style of clasp is called a pennanular brooch. It can be used as a cloak clasp, to fasten a shawl or scarf, or on a kilt.

The pennanular brooch was the way to fasten a cloak for over a thousand years in Northern Europe. It spread from its Celtic origins to be embraced by the Saxons, Romans, Viking and Scandinavian cultures. My original design is based on these historical pieces.

This handmade pennanular brooch is made of sturdy white bronze giving it a silver colour.

It is set with three natural stones.  Several choices of stones are available.

It is 2 3/8 inches across and the pin is 2 3/4 inches long.

Original design by Master Ark.
